Reflections week 2 DFI

  • What did I learn that increased my understanding of Manaiakalani kaupapa and pedagogy?

  • We know that LCS is about the pedagogy not the tech, but it is always good to have that reminder. LCS can also be used in all curriculum areas and doesnt necessary involve the use of digital technology. However the digital technology is very useful to amplify the sharing.

  • What did I learn that could improve my confidence, capability or workflow as a professional?

A few more ideas to help improve my workflow by using apps and tools such as Google keep. I think this can come in handy for some everyday note taking at different things from messages, voice messages to lists. Abit more understanding around using google meets and some of the tools associated with that. eg recording a message. Sometimes its good to use the tools for there purpose and not get to hung up on using different aspects just because they are there.

  • What did I learn that could be used with my learners?

priority box on my drive for the docs that I use the most. Sharing this with my learners.
Using google hangouts more effectively.

  • What did I learn that could improve my confidence, capability or workflow in my personal life?

  1. Hi Stu

You make a good point—the use of digital technology in our classes hinges on teachers and students digital fluency. Once we’ve got that sorted, we can use technology to turbocharge teachers practice.
Are your students in the habit of organising all their work in their subject folders, Stu? That’s one of the best things they can do and will quickly help you find their work through Hapara student dashboard.

  2. Kia ora Stu,

I like the way that you've create two seperate blog posts for the content for the day. Have you tried using labels on your blog posts? You could use one for resources and one for reflections that way if you wanted to find all your resource posts together you could search be the label.
