What did I learn that increased my understanding of Manaiakalani kaupapa and pedagogy? I enjoyed the media session today. Learning about the create part of LCS. Things I have learnt today I can use with the students to show and teach them more ways to create things in a variety of ways. eg google drawings and adding audio to google slides What did I learn that could improve my confidence, capability or workflow as a professional? Increase knowledge in using drawings, slides and creating lists on youtube. What did I learn that could be used with my learners? Ways to be creative on google drawings. Create a variety of things for learners or promoting things on facebook sites. Going live on facebook is something that is been happening at school and looks to a popular avenue for parents to connect with their tamariki mahi and school organisation. What did I learn that could improve my confidence, capability or workflow in my personal life? Potentially next week with sheets.

Reflections week 2 DFI

  • What did I learn that increased my understanding of Manaiakalani kaupapa and pedagogy?

  • We know that LCS is about the pedagogy not the tech, but it is always good to have that reminder. LCS can also be used in all curriculum areas and doesnt necessary involve the use of digital technology. However the digital technology is very useful to amplify the sharing.

  • What did I learn that could improve my confidence, capability or workflow as a professional?

A few more ideas to help improve my workflow by using apps and tools such as Google keep. I think this can come in handy for some everyday note taking at different things from messages, voice messages to lists. Abit more understanding around using google meets and some of the tools associated with that. eg recording a message. Sometimes its good to use the tools for there purpose and not get to hung up on using different aspects just because they are there.

  • What did I learn that could be used with my learners?

priority box on my drive for the docs that I use the most. Sharing this with my learners.

DFI Session 1 Reflection.

DFI Session 1 Reflection.

What did I learn that increased my understanding of Manaiakalani kaupapa and pedagogy?
Today I enjoyed listening to the Manaiakalani story and adding t my knowledge of this.
Facilitators have done a great job adding to my knowledge of Learn, Create, Share when
they have come into school for staff hui's and Professional development. Students at Awapuni school where
I work have done a lot of blogging and making comments however I have not since 2019.
Good to have a refresher again and to start actively using it.

What did I learn that could improve my confidence, capability or workflow as a professional?
It has been over half a year since I used google hangouts and google meets. Didn't take long to get use to using this tool again. I have used google doc, google drive for over 5 or 6 years now but still good to have a few shortcuts and further extend my kete of knowledge.

What did I learn that could be used with my learners?
I will continue to use speech to text with our learners. Also using voice text with ESOL learners
and google translator. It worked extremely well last year with a spanish speaking student who
this year has made outstanding progress.

What did I learn that could improve my confidence, capability or workflow in my personal life?
Everything today added more to my knowledge and will add to personal life.
